Writings
I developed the art of writing a while ago, this is something i recently discovered that i am naturally good at, but just like most of us it took some time to really understand and embrace this gift.
In my school years, i had the luxury to be taught by great English teachers. They really dedicated their time to groom and inspire me. I think they recognized something powerful within me.
I can still remember Ma'am Motshegoe from primary and Mr Mashaya in my high school years. They had always told me how good i was when it came to choice of words in my essays writing and encouraged me to cultivate that skill.
But, of course as a student at the time, i would only read newspapers, magazines or watch documentaries and talk shows just to get good grades. I had never stretched my imagination beyond that environment or perhaps i should say, i had other interests i deemed as more important at that time.
So now that i'm well aware the power of words, i want to use them as an engine to drive a positive change on people and development.
Plant-based Diet
So about 3 years ago, i had a lifestyle change. Yes, i decided to go vegetarian. I can 100% assure you that it was not an easy thing to do, especially having to finally let go off those juicy succulent roasted lamp chops i loved so much *giggles*.
My mother actually got me into this new diet shortly after her GP advised her to follow a meal plan program due to some health complications she had gone through at the time. My goal was to be supportive of her new health habits lifestyle while achieving mine as well.
Looking back now in hindsight, honestly i am thankful of that fruitful experience. I really learned so much and the benefits are worthwhile. So as a lover for food and having passion for cooking, i have also enhance my meal preparation skills even though it has always been something i am naturally good at.
Following this vegetarian diet has made preparing meals so easy. I can now make quick 5 - 15 min minutes dishes like roasted chickpea salad or risotto served with sun-dried tomatoes and crispy coconut flavored tofu.
I am so excited to be sharing more of my most favorite dishes with you.
